ADG Shareware Edition --- How to Participate

To participate in nominating games to appear on Ancient DOS Games - Shareware Edition, all you have to do is sign up at the $8/mo Unique Nominator Tier or higher and you are automatically eligible to send in your nominations! How to Participate by Nominating Games

1. Sign up as a paid supporter on Patreon at the $8/mo Unique Nominator Tier or higher, or sign up with a custom pledge of at least $8/mo USD.


2. Send a private message to Kris from your Patreon account with a list of one or more games you would like to nominate. All games nominated should conform to the following rules:
   1. The game must be a free, legitimate, DOS download available online (ie: not abandonware or public-archived)
   2. The game can be from ANY year; even modern DOS titles are allowed
   3. If the game is freeware it must have ALWAYS been freeware, otherwise it's better suited for ADG proper
   4. If the full game has already appeared on ADG, it's best if the shareware/demo has notable differences to point out


3. If two or more people have the same game actively nominated at the same time then the first person in queue to trigger the game to appear will have ALL nominators of that game pulled to the front of the queue and the nomination will count for all of them.


4. You can change your nominations at any time, though if you have a nominated game about to appear on the next video it may not be possible to change it if it's too close too the video's release.


5. If you cancel your Patreon pledge or reduce it below $8/mo USD your nominations will no longer appear on the show, but they will be stashed and reinstated if you resume an $8/mo or higher pledge in the future!

How ADG-se Nominations are Selected

1. Each Nominator is placed in a queue with their current top nomination. Normally, nominators and games will be pulled from the queue in order.


2. The goal is to produce videos which are a minimum runtime of 12 minutes. If the game pulled will not suffice, more games will be pulled in order, however, games which could fill a video entirely on their own will be temporarily skipped under these conditions.


3. If two or more Nominators have selected a game which is set to appear, they are all pulled to the front of the queue and will all get credit for nominating the game.


4. Once a nominated game is shown, the Nominators who picked the game are sent to the back of the queue.


5. If a Nominator reaches the front of the queue with no games selected, they will become a "Past Nominator" and will be pulled from the queue until they nominate more games, at which point they will go straight to the front of the queue.
